Who we are
This site is run by 9 Yards Financial Group Limited (trading as 9 Yards Financial Services), a licensed Financial Advice Provider, FSP606369. Our office is at 4/31 Carlyle Street, Sydenham, Christchurch.
What we collect
When you use our home loan quiz we collect your answers about your situation (for example what you're looking to do, your income, deposit and household) and your name, email, phone number and postal address. Giving us this information is up to you, but we need your contact details to get back to you, and your postal address to send you anything we've promised in the post (such as our First Home Buyers Guide). Your address also tells us which region you're in. Address suggestions as you type come from Land Information New Zealand's public address dataset; only the address you choose is kept.
How we use it

- To keep in touch about other 9 Yards services we think are relevant to you — you can ask us to stop at any time
- To keep the records we're required to keep
- To understand and improve our service and advertising
Who sees it
- Your information is stored securely in our client management software and our other business systems.
- We don't share your details with any lender until you've signed an authority for us to do so.
- We may share it with our compliance and audit advisers, or where the law requires.
- We never sell your information or give it to other companies for their own marketing.
How you found us and how you use the site
We record how you arrived (for example the ad, campaign or website that referred you), the pages you view and where you stop, your approximate location (country and city — we never store your IP address) and the general type of device you're using. We use this to see which of our marketing works and to filter out automated traffic. It stays on our own systems.
Advertising tags
This site uses advertising tags from Meta (Facebook / Instagram), Google and TikTok. They use cookies to tell those platforms which of our ads brought you here and to show you relevant 9 Yards ads. When you send us your details, we also give Meta a securely scrambled (hashed) copy of your name, email and phone so it can match your enquiry to the ad you saw — your actual contact details aren't sent. The platforms never receive your answers about your finances.
These tags are on by default. You can turn them off at any time on our advertising & cookie preferences page.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. If you have a concern about how we've handled your information, contact our Privacy Officer first; you can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
